The last two seasons of F1 have seen a recurring clash between Red Bulls Max Verstappen and Mercedes Lewis Hamilton. Lewis Hamilton not winning the championship has many fans heartbroken. No other F1 drivers of this generation have this big of a fan base.
In an interview with motorsports, Verstappen said, “But… I don’t understand. Maybe it’s just a generation thing – that we understand each other better, we are racing nicer to each other. I don’t get it. But I don’t feel like I’m doing anything different to Lewis or to the other drivers in terms of how we’re racing.”
He added how he has to be very careful talking about Hamilton since he has a massive fan base in the UK. Verstappen added, “I do have to be a little bit more careful with that because immediately it’s really taken as criticism. And then people start to hate on you. Well, that’s not my intention.”
