The World rally raid championship (W2RC) 2023 has started in Dakar Saudi Arabia. On stage 3 this Tuesday,  Carlos Sainz Sr was defeated for the first time by Al Attiyah. This happened after they found a mechanical issue in Sainz Audi. 

During the race, the Audi RS Q e-Tron E2 of Carlos Sainz hit a complication with the left rear tire that lead him to be much slower than Attiyah. 

This year the Audi driver hoped to bag his fifth Dakar trophy this year but fate doesn’t seem to be on his side. Al Attiyah from Toyota came out on top of this race.
