2022 is about to end, and team bosses were asked to list their favorite drivers this season. The 10 team bosses gave individual scores, which were kept confidential and later combined to get a ranking. 

According to team principals, Max Verstappen was the best driver this season, just like in 2021. Here in the chart below, all 10 drivers’ scores are shown.

Unfortunately, Lewis Hamilton was not even in the top three, and retiring Sebastian Vettel came out in the last position with 24 points. Leclerc from Ferrari was in 2nd position with 144 points, but the difference between his and Max’s scores is quite large. 

Compared to  2021, Lewis Hamilton’s ranking went down, but Leclerc improved a lot. Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly were in the top 10 drivers list last year however, this year, they were replaced.
