Last week Mick Schumacher was signed as a reserve driver for the F1 Mercedez team. After his four-year run with Ferrari, he could not secure his position in the HAAS F1 team.
He will be Lewis Hamilton and George Russell’s reserve driver this season. In an interview after the signing ceremony, he said he would give his all to the race and hopes to contribute to the development of W14 as well.
This is quite a sentimental bond for him as well since his father Micheal Schumacher’s last race was with the Mercedez team.
Mercedez team CEO Toto Wolff says he is a talented driver who deserves a chance. Even though he didn’t win any F1 championship yet, he can learn much from Lewis Hamilton and George Russell this year.
This partnership is a win-win for everyone cause a year as a reserve driver will give Mick chance to make a strong comeback and even secure a pole position.
