Thruxton BTCC 2026: Full Schedule, Race Timetable, TV Coverage & Streaming Guide

The 2026 format makes Saturday essential viewing. Qualifying is no longer the last BTCC action of the day. Instead, it creates the grid for a short points-paying race.

That Qualifying Race then sets Sunday’s opening order. Therefore, one Saturday problem can affect both the points table and the first full race.

Sunday remains the main event. Three equal 16-lap races cover roughly 37.8 miles each before any safety-car extension or stoppage.

Saturday starts with support-series qualifying at 9:00 a.m. local time. That is 4:00 a.m. ET, so North American viewers only need the earliest alarm if they plan to follow every category.

BTCC practice begins at 10:25 a.m. BST. The official table provides a 50-minute block, although the wider 2026 format announcement describes a single 40-minute Free Practice session. Fans should follow the event timetable for the day’s actual track window.

Qualifying is split into two groups. The sessions fit inside the 2:00–2:35 p.m. BST block. After a short reset, pit lane opens at 2:50 p.m. for the Qualifying Race.

Why the Saturday Broadcast Starts Before Qualifying

The UK stream begins at 1:55 p.m. BST. That is five minutes before qualifying. The lead-in gives the production time to introduce the group split, championship order and tyre choices.

The stream continues until 3:45 p.m. BST. Therefore, it covers the complete Qualifying Race and a short post-race window.

North American coverage uses the same clock conversion. The official listing shows 8:55–10:45 a.m. Eastern through RACER.

How the Race to Pole Affects Sunday

The 12-lap Saturday race awards championship points. More importantly, its finishing order becomes Sunday’s Race 1 grid.

A driver who wins Saturday takes pole for Round 13. A retirement places that driver near the back, subject to penalties and official grid decisions.

Sunday starts with the pit-lane walkabout from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. BST. That is 5:00–5:30 a.m. ET. Porsche Carrera Cup opens the racing at 10:50 a.m. local time.

BTCC pit lane opens at 11:30 a.m. BST. Race 1 starts 15 minutes later. The field then returns at 2:40 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Support categories fill the gaps. As a result, race-day viewers can follow nearly continuous competition from Carrera Cup through the final BTCC checkered flag.

Race 1: The Earliest U.S. Start

Race 1 begins before breakfast for much of North America. East Coast viewers start at 6:45 a.m. Central viewers start at 5:45 a.m., while the Pacific start is 3:45 a.m.

The race uses Saturday’s finishing order. Therefore, viewers who miss the Race to Pole should check the official grid before Sunday begins.

Race 2: The Middle of the Broadcast Day

Race 2 begins at 9:40 a.m. ET. It starts in Race 1 finishing order, subject to penalties and technical decisions.

The result also shapes Race 3. A partial reverse-grid number is drawn from positions six through 12.

Race 3: The Reverse-Grid Finale

Race 3 starts at 12:30 p.m. ET. This is the easiest live start for many U.S. viewers and often the least predictable race.

The partial reverse grid moves a driver from the Race 2 top 12 onto pole. Title contenders then recover through a field carrying different boost allocations and tyre conditions.

Toronto and New York use the same Eastern clock. Chicago follows Central Time. Denver uses Mountain Time, while Vancouver and Los Angeles use Pacific Time.

The official BTCC page labels its North American times “EST.” However, July falls within daylight-saving time in most of the United States and Canada. This guide therefore uses the broader “ET” label while preserving the published clock times.

Arizona is an exception because most of the state does not observe daylight saving. Viewers there should compare the local clock before the broadcast.

ITV remains the domestic broadcast home of the championship. ITV4 carries the television production, while ITVX provides the digital live stream and on-demand route.

The official Thruxton TV listing currently shows “TBC–TBC” for Sunday. Therefore, viewers should not assume a precise ITV4 sign-on time until the page is updated.

The official Saturday stream runs from 1:55 to 3:45 p.m. BST. It covers qualifying and the Qualifying Race.

The BTCC page links the stream through ITV Sport’s YouTube coverage. Viewers should open the event from the official BTCC TV page rather than relying on an old bookmark.

ITV4 Versus ITVX

ITV4 is the conventional television channel. ITVX is the internet platform for supported smart televisions, streaming devices, phones, tablets and web browsers.

ITVX is also the practical catch-up destination. The BTCC promotes full race days and highlights from earlier 2026 events through ITVX.

Because online listings can update later than television guides, checking both ITVX and the BTCC TV page during race week is sensible.

Racer+ is the premium streaming platform tied to RACER’s motorsport coverage. The BTCC identifies it as the North American place to watch races and support categories.

A subscription may be required. Viewers should sign in before Saturday because an early Sunday start leaves little time to resolve account problems.

Can U.S. Viewers Use the BTCC YouTube Race-Day Stream?

The championship’s global Sunday YouTube stream excludes the UK and North America. Those territories have separate broadcast arrangements.

Consequently, U.S. and Canadian viewers should use RACER rather than assume the global YouTube feed will work.

North American Viewing Plan

1. Open the official BTCC TV page on Friday and confirm the latest RACER links.
2. Test the Racer+ login and device before Saturday’s 8:55 a.m. ET qualifying window.
3. Set separate Sunday reminders for 6:35 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 12:20 p.m. ET.

The 2026 global plan is broader than a race-only stream. The BTCC says each Sunday race day includes all support-series races for eligible territories.

Race 2 begins Sunday at 1:00 p.m. BST, or 8:00 a.m. ET. The longer 25-minute finale starts at 4:35 p.m. BST, or 11:35 a.m. ET.

Open-wheel cars produce a clear contrast with the touring cars. They are lighter, more aerodynamically sensitive and less tolerant of contact.

Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain

Carrera Cup uses two short qualifying sessions Saturday. The first runs at 9:30 a.m. BST. The second starts at 1:30 p.m.

Both 22-lap races take place Sunday. Race 1 begins at 10:50 a.m. BST, or 5:50 a.m. ET. Race 2 starts at 3:20 p.m. BST, or 10:20 a.m. ET.

The identical Porsche format puts emphasis on braking accuracy, tyre use and driver execution. It also provides a useful picture of track conditions before BTCC races.

MINI CHALLENGE Trophy

MINI Trophy qualifying opens the weekend at 9:00 a.m. BST Saturday. Race 1 begins at 12:30 p.m., followed by Race 2 at 5:20 p.m.

The third race starts Sunday at 1:50 p.m. BST, or 8:50 a.m. ET. That places it immediately before the second BTCC pit-lane opening.

Mini Se7en and Mini Miglia

Mini Se7en qualifies Saturday at 9:55 a.m. BST and races at 3:35 p.m. Race 2 begins Sunday at 12:25 p.m.

Mini Miglia qualifies at noon Saturday. Its first race starts at 4:45 p.m., while Race 2 begins Sunday at 4:00 p.m.

These cars are small, but their slipstream battles fit Thruxton perfectly. Packs can remain connected until the final chicane.

Official Live Timing

The BTCC website provides a live timing page. It is the best official tool during practice and between television windows.

The timing feed shows positions, lap times and gaps. During qualifying, it also reveals which group has produced the fastest overall lap.

Keep the timing page open on a second screen. Video can focus on one battle while the leaderboard shows a developing problem elsewhere.

Live Audio

BTCC live audio follows race weekends from practice through the final Sunday race. The championship’s TOCA LIVE service combines circuit commentary with online access.

Thruxton also advertises circuit radio on 93.7 FM. Trackside spectators can use a small radio and headphones to follow incidents beyond their viewing area.

Audio is especially valuable at Thruxton because the long perimeter layout prevents spectators from seeing the entire lap.

Provisional and Final Results

The BTCC results page publishes classifications after each session. The first table may be provisional.

A full Sunday recording is useful because the three BTCC races are separated by support action. Watching only the headline rounds removes some track-condition context.

International viewers can use the BTCC YouTube channel for eligible live and archived content. Saturday’s qualifying stream may also remain available through ITV Sport.

Territory restrictions can remain on a replay. A video visible overseas may still be unavailable in the UK, United States or Canada.

The Sunday walkabout is the most structured fan-access period. It begins at 10:00 a.m. BST, 50 minutes before the opening Porsche race.

The venue opens from 8:00 a.m. Both days. The ticket listing runs until 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Saturday’s final scheduled race starts at 5:20 p.m. BST. Sunday’s BTCC finale begins at 5:30 p.m., so spectators should expect a later departure.

Paddock and Pit Lane

Paddock access is included for ticket holders. However, active working areas remain controlled and team instructions should be respected.

The pit-lane walkabout offers closer contact with drivers, mechanics and cars. Arrive early because queues can build before the 30-minute window.

Big Screens and Viewing Banks

Thruxton states that big screens will operate around the main spectator areas Sunday. They help fans follow action when cars disappear around the far side.

Woodham Hill overlooks the chicane approach. It is useful for late braking and passing attempts, although popular banks fill quickly.

Travel and Circuit Location

The circuit is near Andover, Hampshire. The official ticket page recommends following signs for Thruxton Circuit from the A303 rather than signs for Thruxton village.

The postcode is SP11 8PN. Early arrival reduces traffic pressure and gives fans time to choose a viewing area before the support program begins.

Children, Camping and Pets

Children 12 and under can attend free with a paying adult, but the venue requires a child ticket. Teen tickets cover ages 13 to 15.

Camping pitches must be purchased in advance. The ticket page showed several pitch types sold out at publication time.

Thruxton is an active airfield and circuit. The venue states that pets are not permitted, except registered guide and assistance dogs arranged under its policy.

Ashley Sutton leads the championship with 220 points. Tom Ingram is second on 172, while Dan Cammish has 160 and Charles Rainford has 137.

The 48-point margin gives Sutton control. However, Thruxton offers points during Saturday’s Qualifying Race and all three Sunday rounds.

Josh Cook enters eighth with 105 points. He is the most successful modern-era Thruxton driver with ten victories, so his progress is worth following even outside the title lead.

The broadcast should explain TOCA Turbo Boost throughout the weekend. Championship position controls the initial allocation, while race finishing order changes later Sunday allowances.

That system can help a lower-ranked car challenge a title leader. Yet Thruxton’s high-speed layout still rewards qualifying position and a strong slipstream.

The on-track timetable is detailed, but it remains provisional. A red flag, recovery operation or weather delay can move later sessions.

The most important missing item is the exact continuous Sunday broadcast window. The official BTCC page still marks the UK and global windows TBC.

UK ITV Window

The championship promises around eight hours of live ITV4 and ITVX coverage. However, the Thruxton sign-on and sign-off times have not yet been inserted on the official page.

Do not publish an invented window. Update the article only when BTCC or ITV posts the final listing.

Global YouTube Window

The same issue applies internationally. The BTCC confirms the territory plan but currently labels the Sunday window TBC–TBC BST.

The three race starts remain usable anchors. A global stream should open before Race 1, but the exact lead-in has not been confirmed.

Weather

A useful forecast becomes reliable closer to race day. Rain can delay qualifying, reduce support-race distances or alter television timing.

Thruxton’s exposed airfield layout also makes wind relevant. Strong crosswinds can affect high-speed stability and the timing of recovery operations.
