The latest completed race was the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals, held June 25–28 at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio. Top Fuel: Maddi Gordon Earns Her First Career Wally
Maddi Gordon’s Top Fuel victory was the defining result at Norwalk. Antron Brown reacted first with a .050 light against Gordon’s .075, but Gordon’s dragster took control by 330 feet and stayed ahead to the finish. Her 3.786 at 333.16 mph defeated Brown’s 3.840 at 328.14 mph by 0.0297 seconds, approximately 14 feet.
Gordon entered the event as a rookie still building experience against a field of champions. Winning in her first Top Fuel final immediately moved her to fourth in the standings with 614 points. Funny Car: Ron Capps Reaches 80 Career Victories
Ron Capps defeated Jack Beckman in the Funny Car final with a 3.969-second run at 328.54 mph. Capps left first by three thousandths and never trailed, beating Beckman’s 4.011 at 323.43 mph by 0.0458 seconds, roughly 22 feet. The victory was Capps’ third of the season and the 80th of his NHRA career.
The result also expanded Capps’ championship lead. He left Norwalk with 812 points, 121 ahead of Matt Hagan. J.R. Todd and Beckman remain close behind Hagan, while Jordan Vandergriff sits fifth. That compact group makes Funny Car one of the most competitive classes entering the Western Swing.

Pro Stock Motorcycle: Gadson defeats Herrera
Richard Gadson won the motorcycle final with a 6.849 at 197.36 mph after Gaige Herrera left 0.004 seconds before the green light. Herrera’s red light ended the race immediately even though he completed a 6.860-second run. Gadson’s victory protected his championship lead and gave him 677 points, 83 more than Herrera.
In NHRA eliminations, leaving before the green light produces an automatic foul. The opponent only needs a legal run to advance. Herrera’s -.004 reaction meant Gadson was the winner as soon as his Suzuki left correctly, regardless of the two motorcycles’ elapsed times.
